Summary
MTI Project Manager plans and manages the execution of large and multi-disciplinary
design/build retail projects. This position is responsible for
planning, scheduling and managing the resources and budgets necessary
to complete the project and communicating progress and issues to all
interested parties on a regular basis. MTI Project Manager is
typically responsible for multiple projects simultaneously with short,
critical timelines.
- Responsible for complete ownership
of assigned projects; assuming full responsibility from
as early as proposal development through to delivery and
installation.
- Coordinates across the functional departments within
MTI to develop a project schedule, with tasks, owners,
deliverables and due dates.
- Leads the organization in the successful development
of the project, assuring that items are delivered as planned,
or contingencies exercised as required.
- Has overall accountability for project success, and is
responsible for a smooth transition to the respective account
team for ongoing maintenance, rollout management, and sustaining
activities.
- Responsible for assuring project status is communicated
to key stakeholders, and critical issues are escalated
for appropriate action.
- Coordinates tightly with the account team during a project
to assure proper management of customer expectations. Interfaces
directly with the customer, to gather and clarify requirements;
provide project status updates; and identify, work and
escalate issues.
- Communicates with external vendors to assure
timely and accurate delivery of project components.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Industrial Design,
or Interior Design is preferred, or an additional 2 years of experience.
- 5-7 years experience in managing cross-functional teams
- Experience gathering and documenting requirements, developing
plans and schedules
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
- PMP certification preferred
- Strong presentation skills and effective relationship building
skills
- Ability to balance multiple tasks and analyze and plan approaches
for complex challenges
- Demonstrated ability to gain and manage commitments and
hold team members accountable
- Proficient PC skills including, but not limited to, the MS Office
Suite
- Demonstrated experience working in the retail design or fabrication
space, or experience in an industrial, interior, environmental,
or architectural design environment.
- Ability and willingness to travel
on an occasional basis
