Business Development Manager

We’ve experienced tremendous growth over the last five years and are now positioned for explosive growth in variety of new retail segments.  MTI has a well earned reputation in the Consumer Electronics Retail segment and is now aggressively exploring other retail segments to support our continued growth.

Summary
In this role, you will plan and direct all aspects of MTI's business development policies, objectives, and initiatives for the Consumer Electronics market segment. Responsible for developing new market initiatives, assessing new markets needs, and analyzing business opportunities that sell both MTI systems solutions as well as components.  Conduct financial feasibility studies and develop proposals for new business opportunities. Duties include negotiating contracts, initiating proposals, and closing sales.  Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the market's concepts, practices and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Lead and direct the work of others to support the execution of the opportunities in the market place. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. The BDM will apply his/her entrepreneurial spirit, innovative mind and winning attitude to drive new business opportunities for MTI and MTI customers.
This position will work with the Vice President of Business Development and requires extensive travel in North America.  

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in Business, Marketing, Finance (or similar field of study), or equivalent experience, skills and education required
  • Minimum of seven (7) years business development experience, preferably with POP Display, Fixture or Branded Manufacturers
  • Background of working with customers to create a retail shopping experience with key retailers, or manufacturers in the marketplace
  • Prior experience working for a Branded Manufacturer ideal
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite and utilizing a Customer Relationship Management software (Salesforce.com)
  • Ability to travel 70% of the time in North America is required as well as a valid passport
